For the top decreases, the instructions should read as follows
Size Large Only:
Decrease 4 sts evenly as follows:
K9, k2tog repeat 4 times. 40 sts.
All sizes:
Rnd 1: K2(3, 3), k2tog repeat around. 27(32, 32) sts.
Rnd 2: K every st.
Rnd 3: K1(2, 2), k2tog repeat around. 18(24, 24) sts.
Rnd 4: K every st.
Rnd 5: K0(1, 1), k2tog repeat around. 9(16, 16) sts.
Size Medium/Large Only:
Rnd 6: K every st.
Rnd 7: k2tog repeat around. 8 sts.
