This cheerful zip up purse is quick to knit with chunky yarn. The knitting pattern uses only a few stitches: knit, purl, knit front and back increase and purl two together decrease. This is also a fun project to use up ends of a yarn ball to avoid waste.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the purse is knitted in acrylic yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).

NEEDLES
A pair of 5.5mm single pointed knitting needles (US 9)

RECOMMENDED YARN
Stylecraft Special Chunky; bulky/12 ply; 100% acrylic; less than 25g in each shade.

Tapestry needle and zipper

SIZES
One size only - 16.5cm wide at the top x 10cm deep.

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, changing colours, and picking up and knitting stitches along an edge. The zipper is sewn in by hand.
