wake socks
Designed for Yarnbox April 2016.
When I received the yarn for this pattern, I immediately thought of water, it’s such a beautiful and soothing shade of pretty blue. And although I tend to envision oceanic scenes most often when designing water-themed stitch patterns, this design elicits, for me, murmurings of ripples on a tranquil inland lake in the wake of a lolling sailboat on a toasty summer afternoon.
These socks are fraternal: matching but mirror images of each other. You decide which you prefer to be the right or the left sock. They are knit top-down with a modified square heel and gussets and a kitchenered toe.
