Ventureland
Also available on Etsy and LoveCrafts!
Ventureland is a lightweight, drapey cowl designed to be thrown on and off in quickly fluctuating summer temperatures. I have a hard time ignoring my shelf of handknits when warm weather hits. Even on eighty degree days you will find me with a shawl in my backpack, just in case it’s chilly enough to put on for ten minutes. I usually find myself wearing them at night or indoors. I love air conditioning, do not get me wrong, but I leave the house dressed to be outside- melting- and so I often find things are too cool indoors. Recently, on my Florida parks vacation, I found myself in need of some indoor warmth, but very frustrated wearing the shawl I carried with me. Sure it was fine if I was sitting down, calmly enjoying a meal, but I have two small boys. Things are rarely done “calmly,” even meals, especially while an adventure. I longed for the ease and security of a cowl and decided to frog the shawl project I brought to work on and immediately began to design this summer cowl.
There are two variations of Ventureland. One uses a 5 skein mini set and contrasting solid. The other uses a full skein of yarn along with two contrasting colors.
