Vampolka
If you purchase 5 patterns from my Ravelry Store at the same time (add them all to your cart before you check out), the least expensive one will be free.
Vampolka mitts are a super quick knit and need only a small amount of yarn. In fact, the three skeins of Shibui Sock are perfectly enough yarn to make all three color variations shown on the photos. Time to turn your whole family into little vampires!
My husband is a huge fan of Devin Townsend, and when I heard his song “Vampolka” for the very first time it instantly got me hooked. It has a catchy tune and it’s a little crazy, like most of his songs.
Apart from the haunting melody I couldn’t forget the name as well: Vampolka. Yes, it’s just a little crazy and I asked myself over and over: How on earth did this band have the idea for a marriage between vampire and polka, two things that obviously have nothing in common? And how could it be that in the end everything worked out perfectly in a way that everyone would say “A vampire and polka? Yeah sure, I had thought of combining these two as well!”
Anyway, I started thinking about a way to bring these two together in knitting.
One detail that I would definitely search for in a vampire’s wardrobe are wide, baroque style cuffs, and of course the color black. Add sexy picot edging – voilà!
As to the polka dots… that was kinda obvious, no?
