This shawl is worked sideways. You start with 5 stitches and go through 5 parts. You decide how many repeats each part has. The yardage used is completely up to you. Though there is an ideal section at which to finish the shawl, you can finish with any section you like and it will work.
Choose between two options for starting the shawl.

Suggested yarns: any that appeals you.
Tools: 5.0 mm (US 8) straight or circular needles, or
needles that give you a fabric you like with your yarn, darning needle for bind-off for Elizabeth Zimmerman method.
Gauge: 16 sts & 22 rows in 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) in twisted ribbing (ktbl, ptbl).
The gauge is not crucial, but it will affect yardage and dimensions of your shawl.
