Twinset tank and cardi are two complimentary patterns that both use lace edging detail-the tank at the bottom, the cardigan on the sleeves.
This cardigan has a top down, raglan construction, with lace detail on the three quarter sleeves to match the tank. A single button and garter stitch edging compliment the simple but elegant design.
Worked on a circular needle in the round, but not joined, there are no seams and the sleeves are knit separately in the round after the body is completed.
Our samples are knit in dk weight yarn, Gedifra Cuor di Cotone in 100% supima cotton but any cotton, cotton blend or even wool would work equally well.
Yarn yardage and needles/Notions:
You will need a circular needle in a size to complete gauge in a circumference wide enough for the body 24”, 32” or 40” circular needles for body (depending on your size), size 16” circular needles for neck and sleeves, stitch markers, stitch holders or waste yarn, tapestry needle for weaving in ends. Yarn yardage:5 (6,7 8, ) 9,10,11 skeins of Gedifra Cuor di Cotone 50 grams 100% cotton 120 meters/131 yards or approximately 660 (792, 924,1056)1188, 1320, 1452 yards of a dk weight yarn.
If you have never done lace before, this is a good pattern to start. The lacework is simple, using yo’s and decreases and there is not a lot of it, so you can get your feet wet but not drown.
