Triwizard Tournament Socks
Just as the Triwizard Tournament was designed for three champions, this slipped-stitch tweed pattern is designed to use three yarn colors. (If you like, you can fool the Goblet of Fire and throw in a fourth color for the cuff and toe just as Harry Potter unwittingly became the fourth champion!) This can also be a great stashbuster pattern - use up all of those bits of leftover sock yarn by changing colors as you wish.
The combination of slipped stitches with yarn carried both in front of and behind the work on varying rows makes for a visually appealing weave-like stitch while also being simple to work! A 3-color linen stitch heel keeps the color changes going and provides more cushioning to the back of the heel.
The pattern is available in four sizes - X-Small (56 sts), Small (64 sts), Medium (72 sts) and Large (80 sts). Note that it runs a little larger than many patterns at the same stitch count, so if between sizes, choose the smaller one.
For the 3-color version, Color A is used for the cuff, heel turn (optional), and toe. Colors B & C are accent colors. Depending on sock size and foot length, you will need approximately 35-70g of A, and 20-40g each of B & C.
