Trellis Shawl
Trellis shawl combines an uncommon, but simple decrease with yarnovers to create a lattice of lace reminiscent of a garden trellis. A simple border echoes the lattice lines and softens the look, creating a cosy yet feminine shawl to wrap up in on cool spring evenings.
This is a fun shawl which knits up quickly from a single skein of sock yarn. Because the shawl is knit side to side you can easily adjust the size to make a bigger shawl by adding a second skein of yarn and continuing to work repeats of the increase chart.
The pattern is provided in both written and chart format.
Special Stitches: k3p1over: k3 stitches, pass first stitch off the right hand needle over the second and third (decreases 3 stitches to 2).
If you downloaded the pattern before 8:10 on June 6 there were a few errors. The current download is correct. Thanks to trish88 for her help finding them.
Here is a summary of the changes:
- Increase Chart written directions: Row 11 - missing K at beginning of row
- Increase Chart and Decrease Chart written directions: Change “work row 2 of trellis stitch” to “work row 3 of trellis stitch”
- Increase Chart and Decrease Chart written directions - rows 1,5,9 of both: Because row 1 of the trellis stitch begins with a knit stitch there was an extra K stitch in the written directions before the instructions to work row 1 of the trellis stitch. This has been corrected.
A picture of the finished shawl has also been added to the pattern file.
