Tito the Toucan
Meet Tito the Toucan. He might seem a little nosy-- poking his large beak in other people’s business-- but he means well. This colorful bird wants to brighten up everyone’s day!
He can be made in any yarn and hook combination you want. Just be certain that the fabric is firm enough that stuffing does not show through.
My Tito is made in Vanna’s Choice Solids using six colors:
- Color 1: Dark Grey Heather (130 yards)
- Color 2: Scarlet (20 yards)
- Color 3: Aqua (20 yards)
- Color 4: Radiant Lime (25 yards)
- Color 5: Duckie (35 yards)
- Color 6: Terracotta (Less than 5 yards)
Tito is an Intermediate-level pattern. Skills you will need include single crochet, increases, decreases, single crochet into the bottom of a foundation chain, color changes, joining new yarn with single crochet, and some seaming. Included is a photo tutorial on how create child-safe eyes from felt, although instructions for using plastic safety eyes are given as well.
The pattern has plenty of progress photos to help you along your way to making your own tropical bird!
