Thornbury beanie
Designed for a beginners crochet class, this simple beanie grows fast in a chunky yarn. Just 50g yarn can give you a large adult beanie.
The pattern is written for new crocheters, with clear instructions and stitch counts.
I crochet loosely, so if you know you crochet tightly you will need to go up one or more hook sizes. The fabric should be fairly flexible - if yours resembles a pot holder, you need to use a bigger hook!
This basic pattern can be easily adapted to different shapes and sizes. Want a slouch hat? Make the body of the hat longer. Want a fuller hat, more of a tam than a beanie? Do a couple of extra rounds of increases then decrease the extra stitches when you are about an inch short of the length you want.
If you wish to use this pattern to teach a class, please contact me first. Thanks.
