The Thiccules socks were born out of our 12 Labors of Knitcules Challenge on YouTube in Fall 2023. For Labor #6: The Stymphalian Birds, we challenged ourselves to learn a new cast-on. We learned the Estonian Double Start Cast-On, and I accidentally cast on the wrong amount of stitches, rather than starting again, I took it as a sign to “make it work” hence the Thiccules Socks were born. The socks are quick and easy knit with just a little bit of mock-cable detail to keep it interesting.
