It’s hard not to be taken back with the character of Daenerys; her strength is matched pretty much on par by her beauty. Last year, upon wrapping up the final episode of season one, I began to think about combining the house traits of her blood with those of her adopted Dothraki culture. But how? One of the great aspects of crochet is its three-dimensional nature, so it didn’t take long for me to decide to use the symbol of Targaryen House - a dragon - in the form of a scaled fabric - something crochet could give me. There’s definitely something sexual and mysterious to the thought of wearing dragon-scale clothing which is appropriate to a garment inspired by Daenerys. Now, you basically have to be completely new to the series to not know that Dothraki don’t wear much clothing. What they do wear leaves the men bare-chested and the women… notcompletely* bare chested. Although as the group moves through the Red Waste region, a land of barren parched earth, there’s little logical argument for them to cover up.*
