The Tain socks are knitted in the round using stranded colour work techniques. The socks are knitted top down. The pattern for the left foot is the mirror image of the right.
The socks construction includes 2x2 rib edging and colour work for the leg. The heel contains a flap, a turn and a gusset. The sole and instep are constructed using different simple designs.
This pattern can be completed by intermediate knitters with no major difficulties. Stitches include knit , purl and decreases (k2tog and ssk)
