And the sunsets of Autumn – are they not gorgeous beyond description? More so than the brightest dreams of poetry? — Charles Lanman

The colors of autumn are unrivaled in their beauty. From the deep reds and oranges of the leaves to the brilliant hues created by the setting sun, fall is a truly magical time of year. And yet, so often we let the busyness of our lives get in the way of truly enjoying this season. This quote is a reminder to slow down and appreciate how nature — like the stunning sunsets of autumn — can rival anything in our imagination. The next time you’re presented with a perfect autumn day, take a moment to stop (and knit) and connect with the beauty that surrounds you.

PRINTING NOTE: This is a checklist pattern; it is not necessary to print the entire pattern if you prefer not to use the
checkboxes for each section.

PATTERN NOTES: A collaboration with Cascade Yarns, this aran weight sampler cowl will knit up quickly and moves from stitch pattern to stitch pattern for an engaging project. Knit top down with increases every few inches, it provides wider coverage at the shoulders but can also be modified to knit just half the length.

SAMPLES: Knit using 2 skeins of Cascade Yarns Superwash Aran Wave in color No. 108 Solar (100% superwash merino 150
yds/100grams and weighed 190 grams using 285 yds/261 m.

YARN NOTE: This cowl takes almost the entire 2 skeins of yarn. If you are using skeins of shorter yardage an option would be to do 2 rounds of purl for the dividing rounds instead of 3. Make sure you’re getting gauge!

Keep it colorful!
