Sugar Snow Cowl
Sugar Snow is a snow with large wet flakes that fall when it’s almost spring time. It is a phenomenon in Vermont, that helps to define that which we call Sugaring Time. When the nights are frigid and the days are warm, the sap runs and it is prime harvest time for Maple
Syrup. Traditionally gathered in sap buckets, they define the landscape as much as muck boots define the fashion sense of the season. This cowl knit in Green Mountain Spinnery’s Capricorn is super warm and helps you transition your wardrobe from your snow parka to your flannel coat or favorite woolen sweater as your only outer garment. It’s the perfect project to knit while I sit and watch the sap boil in my favorite sugar house on my grandmother’s old farm up in Sterling with family friend Lyman who carries on this time honored tradition.
We are having a Sugar Snow Storm right now. As it accumulates the price of the pattern will go down. For every inch we get I will decrease the price of the pattern by .50 cents. Use code: Sugar Snow and it will be good for one week. 3-27-2015
