Crescent shaped shawl accented with felted rocks.

Finished Size:

Yarn:
Fingering Weight yarn.

  • Yarn A - 435 yards / 398 meters
  • Yarn B - 300 yards / 275 meters
  • Yarn for felting rocks - felt-able yarn, about 3-5 yards for each rock, plus 1 yard in contrast colors

Gauge
15 sts x 34 rows = 4” x 4” / 10 cm x 10 cm in stockinette stitch after blocking.
Note: different yarns stretch differently. The gauge given is based on recommended yarn and semi-aggressive blocking. Gauge is not critical in shawls unless exact measurements are desired. If you cannot achieve the pattern gauge, block your swatch and see if the resulting airy/dense fabric works for you. Change to larger or smaller needle size to change the fabric density to your liking.

Construction:

  • Knitted from top edge towards bottom
  • Felting rocks using yarn (or fiber) and added onto the shawl as you work the section.
