Spring shawl
The shawl is knitted round and steeked. Start knitting with double pointed needles and change to circular needles as the shawl grows. You may need to change circular needle length more than once.
The edges are knitted after steeking.
The shawl is knitted with Blackhill Højlandsuld but other types of yarn can of course be used
A total of approx. 450 g for the shawl:
Approx. 175 g for the flower colors
Approx. 175 g for the background colors
In addition, approx. 100 g total for the bands around the edges.
Double pointed needle 3 mm.
Circular needles 3 mm.
(Start with 40 cm and change to longer needles as work grows,
ending with 120 or 150 cm will be appropriate).
Circular needles 2,5 mm to edges (120 cm or longer).
It may be advantageous to have more round needles to work on.
Finished dimensions: Top edge 240 cm, height 110 cm (incl. borders).
Gauge:
24 stitches x 30 rows stranded knitting
on needle 3 mm = 10 x 10 cm.
