Spring Rain
This lovely, generously sized, crescent shaped shawl uses two skeins of solid (Peekaboo Yarns Fingering in Celadon) and one skein of multi colored (Elevate Deluxe Sock in Montana Outfitter Tour August). It’s intricate and feminine and would make a heavenly wedding shawl in white, ivory, or blush. I added size 6/0 beads in the lace to resemble rivulets of water and briolettes along the bottom edge to simulate raindrops.
The pattern includes charted and written directions for both the beaded and unbeaded versions. You can also use just one color.
You need to know or learn to k, p, yo, k2tog, ssk, s2kpo, and hooking on a bead (complete instructions for these terms are included) for the lace. There are short rows, but don’t let that scare you. People learn this easily and it’s a great technique for subtle shaping. Complete instructions for the wraps and turns and for picking up the wraps are included with an illustration for the pick ups.
I’m sooooo looking forward to seeing the end of 2020. This is a spirit lifting design full of hope for the future!
