This versatile shawl is knit from side to side with a simple open netting along the edge. The fringe is worked as you go, so there is no finishing work when you are through. The fringe can be trimmed, or, if you prefer, you can leave the loops intact for a more dramatic effect.

Please note, at the end of rows 1 and 5, you will work a yo, p1. To do this, you leave the yarn in the back for the yo, and then bring the yarn over the needle to the front to work the purl stitch, creating the yarn over. You should always have 19 stitches on the netting section of the pattern.
