Speed Boost
A Speed Boost is a strip of arrows on the racing track of a popular video game. When you drive over the speed boost, you get exactly what it sounds like - an extra boost of speed!
Speed Boost is a hat I couldn’t resist casting on. The elongated-stitch cables are so enticing and the squish of the resulting fabric is ::chef’s kiss:: so fantastic! It’s a speed boost for your knitting mojo.
MATERIALS
- US 7 (4.5 mm) knitting needles or size needed to meet specified gauge, in your preferred style for knitting a hat (DPNs, magic loop, etc).
- DPNs or Magic loop in the same size as gauge needle (for the crown of the hat)
- Brimmed version only US 6 (4.0 mm) knitting needles, or size 0.5mm smaller than your gauge needle, for brim of hat.
- 100 (130, 165, 200, 230) yds / 91.5 (119, 151, 183, 210) m of worsted weight yarn. The sample used Beachy Breeze Fibers Delta Worsted in 39.5 foot pole 240 yds / 219 m per 100g skein; 100% non-superwash “blend of Merino and Rambouillet” wool
- Stitch marker
- Cable needle
