Designed during a wonderfully inspiring knitalong, this sweater updates a simple raglan shape with an inset garter panel, three-quarter sleeves, and just a hint of perfectly-placed gathering. Knit top down and in the round, the pattern works up quickly in worsted weight and includes two style options for finishing the neck.
Yardage:
Between 1085 -1850 yds / 993 - 1692 m of worsted weight yarn (for cowl style).
Suggested Yarn:
Crew neck sample (pink) uses hand-dyed Wing & A Prayer Farm 100% Vermont Cormo Yarn, and cowl neck sample (purple) uses Quince + Co Owl in the Amethyst colourway.
Gauge: 18 stitches x 26 rows = 4” / 10 cm square in st st on US 7 / 4.5 mm needles after blocking
Measurements: Pattern includes schematic with all finished measurements. The sweater is designed to be worn with 0 - 2” (0 - 5 cm) positive ease around the bust. Both photographed samples have a finished chest size of 33.25” / 84.5 cm and are worn with 1” / 2.5 cm of positive ease.
Suggested Needles:
US 6 / 4 mm circulars, 16” / 40 cm (for the neck)
US 7 / 4.5 mm circulars, 16” / 40 cm and 24” / 60 cm or longer (to hold body stitches)
US 7 / 4.5 mm DPNs (or needles of choice to knit sleeves in the round)
