Crochet your own sweet little bunny rabbit with jointed arms and legs. It’s a great project if you want to learn all the amigurumi basics, need a last-minute present or a quick crochet fix.

SIZE

14 cm (5 ½“) from head to toe, when crocheted with DK weight yarn and a 2.50 mm crochet hook. And 19 cm (7 ½”) when crocheted with fuzzy baby yarn and a 2.75 mm crochet hook.

DIFFICULTY

Intermediate – includes some more complicated crochet techniques and small details.

SKILLS REQUIRED

YOU WILL NEED

  • DK / light worsted / # 3 / sport weight yarn.
  • For the brown bunny I used Alize ‘Alpaca Royal’ wool-alpaca blend, 250 m (273 yd) / 100 g (3.5 oz). You will need about 25 g of brown yarn (#558).
  • For the beige bunny I used Cascade Yarns ‘Ultra Pima’ 100% cotton, 200 m (220 yd) / 100 g (3.5 oz). You will need about 25 g of beige yarn (#3828).
  • 2.50 - 3.00 mm crochet hook (US size 2/C - 3/D).
  • Polyester fiberfill, wool, wadding for stuffing.
  • 8 mm (1/3”) safety eyes or buttons, beads, felt etc.
  • Four 10 mm (2/5”) and four 8 mm (1/3”) buttons or plastic doll joints or safety eyes.
  • Dark brown cotton embroidery floss.
  • Yarn needle, scissors, stitch marker.

For the fuzzy version, you will need

  • Fuzzy baby yarn. I used Alize ‘Softy’, a bulky weight polyester yarn, 115 m (127 yd) / 50 g (1.76 oz). You will need about 28 g of beige yarn (#310).
  • 2.75 - 3.50 mm crochet hook (US size 2/C - 4/E).
