Denne kofta er inspirert av eikeskogen og elva ved Sjølingstad Uldvarefabrik, av de vakre teppene de vever der og av de flotte fargene i garnet deres. I mønsteret brukes flere mønsterfarger, to nyanser av henholdsvis rosa og blått på slyngrose- og fuglebordene, tre nyanser av grønt på eikebladene. Kofta blir også fin om du velger færre farger.

Kofta strikkes ovenfra og ned, du starter altså med kragen, som strikkes fram og tilbake. Når kragen er ferdig, setter du av masker på hver side til knappestolpe, legger opp masker til klippekant og strikker videre rundt. Nakken formes med forkorta pinner. Deretter strikkes rundsalen med vanndråper og slyngrosemønster. Etter slyngrosene deler du til bol og ermer, og strikker bolen ned til vrangborden. Midjen formes ved hjelp av tynnere pinner. Knappestolpemasker plukkes opp og stolpene strikkes fast til bolen nedover til vrangborden. Vrangborden strikkes så fram og tilbake sammen med knappestolpene. Til slutt strikkes ermene rundt.

This cardigan is inspired by the oak forest and the river at Sjølingstad Uldvarefabrik, the beautiful rugs they weave there and the splendid colours of their yarn. Sjølingstad Uldvarefabrik is a museum yarn mill and weavery in the south of Norway. In the pattern I used several contrasting colours, two shades of pink and blue respectively for the roses and the birds, three shades of green for the oak leaves. The cardigan will also look nice if you choose fewer colours.

The cardigan is worked from the top down. You start with the collar, which is worked flat. When the collar is done, you put button band stitches on each side of the collar on a holder, cast on stitches for the steek, and start working in the round. The neck is shaped with short rows. Then you work the yoke with water drops and roses. After the roses, work is divided for sleeves and body. Waist shaping is done by going down in needle size. The body is worked down to the ribbing, and then you pick up stitches for the buttonband. Continuing on the live buttonband stitches from the collar, the button band is worked and attached as you go. Then the ribbing is worked flat. The sleeves are worked in the round. All measurements in cm.
