This wide and long stole is cosy and dreamy at the same time. It showcases waves, cockleshells, sea foam and amber drops — like a beautiful sea.

Yarn
Use lace or light fingering weight, combine solid and gradient yarns. Long colour repeats are better for the cockleshell pattern, while for the stockinette waves shorter colour repeats will also look good. Try combining different textures, e.g. in the sample shawl slippery linen is combined with rustic wool.

Measurements
Length: 186 cm (73”); width: 50 cm (20”).

Yarn requirements
920 m (1006 yds) of MC and 180 m (197 yds) for CC
Provided yardage is a generous estimate. Yarn consumption can be adjusted while knitting.

Customisation
You can easily adjust the width and length of the lace pattern (instructions are provided).

Beads
216 beads are used (optional).

Construction
The shawl is knit in two pieces of different length that are then grafted. Where the pieces are joined the waves crash, and sea foam appears crowned by two lines of amber-like beads. The sea foam lace helps to preserve the curves of the cockleshells and hides the grafting location.

For more information about construction, please check the second page of the pattern among the photos on the left.

Instructions
The pattern is fully written; the cockleshell lace pattern is also charted. An included photo tutorial illustrates how to work the cockleshell lace stitch.
