Designed for my annual trip to Four Purls where we collaborate together and secretly plan crazy fun and exciting things for the future. I look forward to this visit all year and love hanging out with everyone - you all are Simply the Zest!🍊🍊🍊

Construction: Simply the Zest is a crescent shawl knit top down, filled with texture, a bold mosaic section, and fun wave stripes. A nice I-cord bind finishes off this stunning piece.

The pattern is fully written out with stitch counts and includes charts.

Yarn: You will need 3 fingering weight colors. Color one can be very lightly speckled and colors two and three be semi-solid colorways. Colors 1 & 2 are used in the mosaic section and need to have contrast.

I used: (yardage is padded by 25 yards from my usage)
Yarn: Emma’s Yarn Super Silky (80% Superwash Merino/20% silk, 400yards/100grams)
Color One (C1): Florida Zest 320 yards (orange lightly speckled)
Color Two (C2): Foxy Lady 350 Yards (rust)
Color Three (C3): Heavy Pour 400 Yards (plum)

Needles: US 4/3.5mm 24’ or 32” circular needles, and one & 6/4mm for bind off

Notions: Stitch Markers, T-pins, and blocking wires for blocking

Gauge: 28 stitches = 4 inches in garter, 24 stitches = 4 inches in Mosaic, after a strong blocking. Although gauge is not crucial for this project, it will affect the finished size and yarn requirements. A looser gauge will result in the use of more yarn.

Finished Size: 18” deep x 88” wingspan after blocking. Finished dimensions will vary due to blocking and fiber content; the silk in the sample resulted in a very drapey shawl.
