Simplicity Shawl
Simplicity Shawl
The brutal cold in the northeast was what inspired me to design a beginner friendly, crocheted shawl using Yarnalia Fluffy. This chunky weight yarn works up super fast and the repeats are easy to remember. I love oversized knits and this shawl is no exception with a generous wingspan of 80”, you’ll have options to wear it multiple ways.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
HOOK: US N/15 (10.00 mm) crochet hook (or size to obtain gauge)
YARN: Chunky Weight - 654 yds (598 m)
Suggested Yarn: Yarnalia Fluffy - 70% acrylic / 30% wool; 109 yds (100 m) / 100g. 6 skeins total. *Note: I highly suggest buying a pack of 6 balls as opposed to 6 single balls to ensure you receive the same dye lot.
NOTIONS: Tapestry needle, scissors, tassel maker or piece of cardboard, wool wash and blocking boards.
GAUGE
6.5 stitches x 4 rows = 4” (10 cm) in Double Crochet stitch, after wet blocking
FINISHED SIZE
80” (203 cm) wide wingspan x 34” (86.5 cm) center depth
