Great for times when you need a little something to take the chill off in an AC’d restaurant or office, this cardigan is also a great wardrobe stretcher! Want to wear that sundress into the fall? Add this little cardigan for a whole new look.

A reinterpretation of Lyrical Knits’ Simplicity Cardigan, this design has set in sleeves, more front coverage at the upper bodice, less pointy fronts, and trim to tame the curling at the edges and hem.

Worked from the shoulders-down, the set-in sleeves of this open cardigan are created simultaneously with the upper bodice in a technique originally described by Barbara Walker (photo tutorial included).

Laceweight yarn is recommended for a super-light garment, but it can be worked in fingeringweight for a more substantial cardigan for fall.

Because the garment isn’t meant to close over the bust, chose your size based on both your crossback measurement as well as your bust. See the “Some Thoughts About Fit” section in the pattern for more information on customizing the fit to your preferences.
