The Moebius is something I’ve been avoiding in my knitting for over a decade. A crazy cast-on, a super long circular needle – it all seemed so scary. Add a twist to your knitting on purpose? Yeah, no thanks.
But it’s time to face my fears, and maybe yours too. If I can hike the twisting and winding Bright Angel Trail at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, I certainly handle a little twist in my knitting!
This Moebius cowl starts with Cat Bordhi’s Moebius Cast-On and is worked from the center-out. It’s perfect for a yarn like Done Roving’s DK Gradient Transitions, since the gradual color changes happen from the center outwards, just like the knitting. With simple ribbing and an easy lace pattern that looks pretty on both sides, you’ll have your Moebius ready to wear for all your adventures in no time.
Yarn Used for Cowl Shown: Done Roving Yarns DK Gradient Transitions, 100% superwash merino (500 yards/170 g) in color Canyon View (1 ball)
Pattern Notes
To start the piece, you’ll need to use the Moebius Cast-On. If you need help with that, please see Cat Bordhi’s excellent video tutorial: https://youtu.be/LVnTda7F2V4
