Sedna is the Inuit Goddess of the sea, sea animals, and the underworld. As a powerful Aboriginal Canadian mythological figure, she is also an appropriate namesake for a sweater designed during the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games as a Knitting Olympics Challenge.
Sedna is said to dwell at the bottom of the sea. From there, she has control of all the seals and walruses that the Inuit depend on for food. If angered, she captures all of the animals and won’t let them go again until she is properly appeased. Hopeful, you’ll find this particular Sedna a little easier to get along with than her legendary namesake.
