Who doesn’t love llamas?
After designing the No Probllama socks last summer I had to make some changes to the original pattern to have it better suit the Sock Madness requirements. This meant moving the llama on the foot up out of the toe zone, and I personally didn’t like the way it looked.
But it had already been accepted for the Finale pattern, so I couldn’t make anymore changes.
Suddenly there were too many llamas! So I thought later, why not make shorties with an easier to knit background pattern?
Then, while getting ready to test knit the design, I decided to use up the leftover yarns from my last years advent box. The colours all work together, but there was more choice in light colours than dark. So all in all, these became a pair of scrappy shortie llama socks!
This pattern uses the technique called Ladder back Jaquard to create a stretchy sock where the long floats are invisible on the inside. To learn more about this technique check out the following website:

It’s possible to knit these by just catching the long floats, but then your socks will not be nearly as stretchy as with the LBJ. Here’s a good link to how to catch long floats
Sock Madness members will receive a code to download the patterns free soon. But should you chose to buy the pattern now, then I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness (and for the coffee)
