A Mother Hen, (6” tall), she’s cute and cuddly, but also proud and has a magnificent comb on her head. This pattern is available individually or as part of the eBook Around the Barnyard which features the pattern for a baby chick as well as a pig, cow, sheep and duck

For an ADVENTUROUS BEGINNER knitter because the construction uses short row shaping (explained in the pattern) and picking up stitches. The Mother Hen is mostly knitted flat on straight needles using short row shaping. The neck and face are knitted in the round on dpns. Other parts of the Hen are knitted separately and then sewn on.
