The planned pooling technique used in this hat lets you turn a variegated yarn into striking diagonal stripes, and the pattern walks you though exactly how to get there in the written instructions, as well as video tutorials.

3 sizes all work to create the striping effect with this yarn (if you use a different yarn, results may vary, but I tried to give good info on how to adjust with different variegated yarns)

Small - Child/Tween 18-19.5” head circumference
Medium – Woman’s average 21-23” head circumference
Large – Men’s average 22-24” head circumference

Hat is worked from the top down and ends with a professional looking turned brim and a facing that lets the planned pooling effect continue unchanged right over the edge.
