Food tastes best when cooked with love. Potholders with hearts for the chef or cook who lovingly prepares the food are always a joy.
Actually, I can also imagine the potholders in a colour that matches your bathroom as washcloths.
These instructions describe how to knit a practical potholder set consisting of two matching potholders that will be a real eye-catcher in any kitchen.
The potholders are knitted using the double face technique. You can find a free basic pattern on the double face technique in my store.

Knowledge required:

  • Stitch cast-on
  • Cast off
  • Knitting knit and purl stitches
  • These potholders are also well suited as practice pieces for beginners in the double face technique. You can find a free basic double face knitting course here: https://www.crazypatterns.net/en/items/97086/double-face-...
  • Crochet chain stitches for the (optional) hanger

What you get:
You get a 11-page instruction with a row-by-row description of both potholders supported with pictures. The instructions also include a clear counting pattern for both potholders. The double face technique itself is not explained in these instructions. You can find a basic tutorial in double face knitting here: https://www.crazypatterns.net/en/items/97086/double-face-...

Difficulty level:
Easy
If you can follow the exercises from my free basic double face knitting pattern (available from my store her on Ravelry), you can knit this potholder.

Material Needed:
• Schachenmayr Catania, 100% cotton, 50g = approx. 125m.
100g each in white and 100g in red. I used a total of 60g per color (i.e. 30g per color per potholder). However, the amount needed may vary a little depending on your personal knitting style. You can also use a different cotton with a similar yardage.
• Knitting needles no. 2
• Crochet hook no. 3
• Sewing needle
• Scissors
