Posh Petals
Layered “petals” in shaded color tones make an unusual, slightly 3-dimensional border for this narrow crescent shawl shaped by short rows. The shawl is knit bottom-up with sport-weight yarn, but different weights could also be used (note size and yardage would vary). Although the samples shown use five different colors, any combination of one to five colors may be used to create your own stunning Petals. This is also a great stash-buster project! A deeper shawl could be made by adding another leaf layer, if desired (adjust yardage accordingly).
This pattern is for the intermediate to advanced knitter; charted instructions are used for the lace section.
Techniques include knitting layers together, simple lace, short rows, and optional I-cord bind off.
