Pointedly Shawl
Pointedly is an off-kilter triangle shawl worked in simple stitches and finished with a zippy I-cord edging. Its easily memorized pattern and double-knitting weight yarn make it a great project to lug around to meetings or snuggle with on lazy weekends. (Truly a calm knit - I made this sample as I recovered from Covid in 2022.)
Any DK weight will work for this shawl, but choosing a colourful tweed like the Hedgehog Tweedy gives you lots of options for coordinating edge colours. The edging can be worked with a DK weight as well, or as shown here with a fingering weight yarn held double.
The points are picked out here in a different colour from the sides, but feel free to go crazy and use as many colours as you like.
As shown here Pointedly used 650y/595m of Tweedy plus 100y/91m of sock yarn (held double) for the sides and 20y/18m of sock yarn (held double) for the corners.
If you buy three skeins of Tweedy, you have enough left over for a matching hat. I’m working on that. :)
