About this pattern:
A peregrination is a journey, traveling from place to place. The subtle nuance to this word is that it is a meandering, possibly circuitous, rambling journey. It is one of my favorite words, imbued with the promise of adventure taken at leisure.

Peregrination begins as a simple garter stitch infinity loop scarf knit in the round, and continues with two crocheted, arching edges reminiscent of arched doorways or soaring domes overhead. Long enough to wrap twice, but beautiful when left hanging down, Peregrination is a lightweight loop that you will find to be an excellent and versatile traveling companion.

Skills required:
You must be able to: knit and purl in the round on circular needles as well as make basic crochet stitches: single crochet, double crochet, chain, and slip stitch.

Materials:
Yarn: Yarn Carnival High Wire 3 Ply Fingering Weight, 100% Superwash Merino, 490 yds/100g) in 2 colors. The yarns ideally should be semi-solids, but any of them could have small flecks of a color as well. The knitted portion could also be a handpaint or variegated yarn, with the crocheted edges in a semi-solid.

You will need 400 yds of the main color and 200 yds for the edges.

Needle & Hook: US size 6 (4.00 mm) 32-36” circular needle and a size G (4.00mm) crochet hook, or sizes needed to achieve gauge.

Notions: 1 stitch marker; tapestry needle for weaving in.

21 sts & 51 rows=4” in garter stitch
and
20 sts & 12 rows = 4” in double crochet

50” circumference and 8.75” across including edges.
