Paws Beanie and Headband
Comfy and warm, this beanie/headband is ideal for the pet-mad friend or family member. This co-ordinates with my Paws Handwarmers and Paws Cowl, and will be part of a Paws Series.
It comes in 4 sizes: Tiny (45cm/18”), Small (50cm/20”), Medium (55cm/22”) and Large (60cm/24”). Choose the size closest to the head measurement, as the beanie/headband is reasonably fitted. In-between sizes can be made using worsted weight yarn knit at 22sts/4”.
Yardages:
Tiny - 125m/135yd
Small - 145m/155yd
Medium - 165m/180yd
Large - 185m/200yd
This pattern looks great with contrasting yarn for the i-cord bands. Choose a solid or semi-solid yarn with a high twist for optimal stitch definition for the main part of the beanie/headband, while a variegated looks great on the i-cord bands. You need 30m/33yds for the contrasting yarn.
The pattern also comes with two crown options: a flat crown, or a cute stalk.
The pattern has both charted and written instructions, and includes links to video tutorials for the more unusual techniques.
The paws band is incorporated into the beanie, so it’s all done in one layer - it’s not a turned up brim.
4Nov13: Often on patterns I find the caveat that knitters may not sell items made with the pattern. After a lot of thought and research I have decided that I don’t agree with this statement. I don’t believe that the designer has any rights over the finished product, so, if you’re handknitting and you want to sell items made from my patterns - Best of Luck, and Go For It! I think handknitting for a living must be quite a challenge, so you need all the luck I can give you. Of course, my rights DO cover the patterns themselves, so you mustn’t copy or distribute them.
