The Paul Holes shawl is a triangle that is crocheted in rows from one end to the other. The pattern comes in four parts; the 1st part is the increase, the 2nd part is the decrease, the 3rd part is the final rows and the 4th part is the edging. The holes start in the increase part and end in the decrease part. The pattern has two sizes and two different types of edging.

Smaller sized shawl is 45 cm in height at the center and 200 cm in length from end to end, after blocking. Larger sized shawl is 55 cm in height at the center and 240 cm in length from end to end, after blocking.

For my shawls I used 100% Merino Fingering hand dyed yarn from Dottir Dyeworks. Fingering/4 ply, 100 g / 400 m. For the smaller shawl (brown) I used 200 g of the color Acorn. For the bigger shawl (turquoise) I used 300 g of the color Cursed.

When choosing yarns to use make sure that your yarn has the same length as mentioned above rather than just looking at the weight. It is also important to watch your gauge so that you don’t run out of yarn.

Paul Holes sjalið er þríhyrna sem hekluð er fram og til baka endanna á milli. Uppskriftinni er skipt í fjóra hluta; fyrsti hluti er útaukning, annar hluti er úrtaka, þriðji hluti er síðustu metrarnir og fjórði hluti er kantur. Gataraðirnar byrja í útaukningunni og klárast í úrtökunni. Tvær stærðir eru í uppskriftinni sem og tvær útgáfur af kanti.

Minna sjalið er 45 cm á hæð við miðju og 200 cm á lengd, eftir strekkingu. Stærra sjalið er 55 á hæð við miðju og 240 cm á lengd, eftir strekkingu.

Sjölin eru hekluð úr 100% Merino frá Dottir Dyeworks. Fingering/4 ply, 100 g / 400 m. Í minna sjalið (brúna) fóru 200 g í litnum Acorn. Í stærra sjalið (blágræna) fóru 300 g í litnum Cursed.

Að sjálfsögðu er hægt að nota hvaða garn sem í sama grófleika og passa þá upp á að metrafjöldinn sé réttur. Mikilvægt er að huga að heklfestu svo garnið dugi í verkið.
