The “PATRICK” hat - luck o’ the Irish
Knit in the round in a simple textured stitch, the shamrocks are crocheted and then sewn on. A lucky 4-leaf clover perches on top.
THE BASICS
• Pattern includes 6 sizes: Newborn / 3-6 months / 6-12 months / Toddler / Child / Adult
• Pattern is written in ENGLISH and uses standard U.S. knitting terms
• Instructions are for knitting in the round on circular and double pointed needles
• Knitting skill level - INTERMEDIATE
• Gauge: 20 stitches = 4 inches (10 cm)
• Shamrocks are crocheted
SKILLS YOU’LL NEED
• Knitting in the round
• Basic increases and decreases
• Knitting I-cord
• Basic crochet stitches (chain, single, double, triple crochet)
SUPPLIES YOU’LL NEED
• Approx. 90 to 180 yds (82 to 165 m) DK or light-worsted weight yarn for hat
• Several yds (m) Sport or Fingering weight yarn for shamrocks
• U.S. size 6 (4 mm) 12” (for 3 smallest sizes) or 16” circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge
• U.S. size 6 (4 mm) double pointed needles or size needed to obtain gauge
• U.S. size 3 (2.1 mm) crochet hook
• Stitch markers
• Yarn needle
