With sea creatures abounding, Pacific Rim socks are a fun knit. The design gives you a chance to play with colors as well use up some of the leftover yarn in your stash.The pattern is written cuff down.
The pattern instructions are clear and easy to work, taking all the stress out of knitting colorwork socks. The pattern features detailed written instructions and complete charts.
Size
Women’s Medium – shoe size US 8/European 38
Foot length 9 inches (22.8 cm), leg length 9.5 inches including cuff (24.1 cm), Foot/leg circumference 8.25-8.5 inches (20.9-21.9 cm)
Pattern contains suggestions for increasing the foot length
Gauge
9 stitches = 1 inch (2.5 cm) in stranded work
8-9 rows = 1 inch (2.5 cm)
Needles
US#1 (2.25mm) & US#2 (2.75mm) DPN (set of 5)
Ribbing and toe are worked on smaller needles.
Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain proper gauge.
Yarn/Materials:
Fingering weight/Sock yarn – 11 colors – 1 skein each. 100% Wool
The amount of yardage ranges from 122 yards to 7 yards depending on the color. Sample knitted using Brown Sheep Naturespun, Cascade 220 fingering and Knitpicks Palette.
Recommend sock yarn or other durable fingering weight yarn
