DAY 11

Oulée is a thick and warm shawl, knit with DK thread, in garter stitch and sweet lace, with a light asymmetrical triangular shape.
After a light wet-blocking, it measures around 2m60 x 55 cm (not a stretchy one, just enough top open the lace). It has a particular construction since it is first worked from side to side, then as a regular top-down triangular shawl.

Material

• Thread : DK. Between 660 and 700m. My version : Sweet’DK, Petit bout de Laine (100% mérinos), coloris Cornouillers.
• Needles 4,5 mm and 2 markers.

Be aware, if you are a loose knitter with lace in general, use 4 mm needles if you want to have enough yardage.

Gauge

The gauge is not essential, but for information : 2 repeats of lace pattern height x 1 repeat of lace pattern width = 10 cm (washed, blocked and dry).

Extra

• Lace is available as charts and row by row.

• Each technique used in this pattern has a video link. Those videos are in French, but easily understandable just by watching.

Techniques

• yarn over, SSK/SSP, K2tog/P2tog
• garter stitch, lace
• pick up stitches on garter stitch edge

This pattern has been tested.
Level of difficulty according to test-knitters : 2,5/5 (between advanced beginner and intermediate).

Jour 11

Oulée est un châle épais et chaud, en DK, à base de point mousse et de dentelle légère, de forme triangulaire asymétrique.
Après blocage il mesure environ 2m50 x 60 cm (non agressif, juste de quoi ouvrir la dentelle). La construction mixe les constructions “triangulaire basique“ et ”d’une extrémité à l’autre”. C’est un châle d’hiver, grand froid compatible

Matériel

• Fil : DK. Entre 660 et 700m. Ici : Sweet’DK de Petit bout de Laine (100% mérinos), coloris Cornouillers.

• Aiguilles 4,5 mm et 2 marqueurs.

Si vous avez tendance à tricoter la dentelle lâche, passez en 4 mm pour avoir assez de métrage.

Echantillon

L’échantillon n’est pas primordial pour ce projet, mais à titre indicatif : 2 motifs de dentelle en hauteur x 1 motif en largeur = 10 cm de coté (lavé, bloqué et sec !).

Bonus

• La dentelle est disponible en diagramme et en rang par rang.

• Toutes les techniques utilisées dans ce modèle sont illustrées avec un lien vidéo.

Techniques

• jeté, GGTend./env. (surjet simple endroit/envers), 2 m ens. end./env.
• point mousse, dentelle
• relever des mailles sur une bordure de point mousse

Ce patron a été testé.
Niveau de difficulté selon les testeuses : 2,5/5 (entre débutant avancé et intermédiaire).
