Otherwise Shawl
This shawl is the perfect way to use up precious oddments of yarn.
I loved thinking about the projects that I had previously made with the yarn I was using, it almost became a memory shawl as I worked. There were scraps from Christmas ornaments, partial balls from much-loved items made years before, even yarn that was being reused after frogging items that were no longer fit for use. They all went into this shawl and became something new and lovely.
When completed, the shawl measures approximately 2.6m in wingspan, and is 20 inches deep excluding tassels.
The shawl pictured is worked in 4 ply/fingering weight yarn and weighs 320 grams when completed. However, you can easily substitute heavier/thicker yarn and appropriate needles if you prefer to have a finished shawl much faster! The pattern is very easy to modify in order to change the size of the shawl. For thicker yarn and larger needles, you will simply stop knitting earlier than if you use thinner yarn.
The pattern provides photos and links to help with techniques you may not have tried before.
