Oleander
Oleander is a fitted raglan pullover worked from the bottom-up with budding cables that mimic an organic growing process. Pattern is sized from 30” / 76 cm bust to 60” / 152 cm bust, with sizing increments as appropriate and waist shaping to ensure a flattering fit.
Pattern Difficulty: Adventurous Beginner Pattern uses cable knitting, knitting in the round, increasing and decreasing, and grafting using Kitchener Stitch.
Yarn used for sample pictured:
Knit Picks Capretta (fingering weight, 80% fine merino wool, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon, 230 yards per 50 gram ball), Fairy Tale 25602 Colorway
* 4 (5, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 7, 7, 7, 7, 8, 8) balls
Needles: US 4 (3.5mm) and US 5 (3.75mm), or size to achieve gauge, circular needles at least 29” / 74” long for body and yoke, and 12” / 31 cm for sleeves, or longer circulars for 2-Circular or Magic Loop methods. (Double pointed needles are not recommended for this pattern, as they tend to produce ladders along the reverse stockinette fabric).
Gauge: 26 stitches by 34 rows = 4” x 4” / 10 cm x 10 cm using larger needles and working Oleander Cable Pattern in the round and after blocking. Take time to check gauge.
Notions: Cable needle, stitch markers (4), stitch holders (4), tapestry needle, pins for blocking
