Newman is a unisex-style ribbed sweater knit sideways from cuff to cuff in brioche stitches. Stitches are then picked up at both front and back bodies separately, and knit downwards in at to different lengths. Aside from the entire pullover knit in brioche rib, the construction is simple and the process is quite meditative. Quince & Co. Chickadee creates a great bouncy fabric for a warm, relaxed pullover, both a cozy and fashionable addition for this season.

Note
Sweater is knitted from cuff to cuff, with sleeves worked in the round and yoke worked flat in between. Yoke is split for neck opening, and the front portion and the back portion of yoke are worked separately, then joined for shoulder, then sleeve. Body is worked in the round from the yoke down, with short row shaping on fronts, at yoke. Front hem, and longer back hem, are both worked flat separately. The sleeves and neck edging can be worked using the magic loop method, or using DPN; the yoke can be worked at on body circular needles.
When working at, all edges are worked with a selvedge stitch by slipping the rst stitch of the row, and knitting the last stitch through the back loop.

このセーターは片側の袖口から反対側の袖口に向かっ て編み始める . 袖は輪編みで , ヨークは往復編みで編む . ヨークは襟あきで前後身頃に分けて別々に編み , 肩で再 度一緒にして編んでいく , 続けて袖を編む . 身頃はヨー クから目を拾い , 前身頃で引き返し編みをしながら , 裾 に向かって編む . 前後身頃の裾 ( 後ろ身頃の方が長くなっ ている ) は往復編みで別々に編む . 袖と襟はマジックルー プまたは 4 本針で編む . ヨークは , 身頃用の輪針を使っ て往復編みで編むことができる .
往復編みで編む場合は , 端目として全て段の最初ですべ り目をし , 段の最後をねじり目で編む .
