Real squirrels can be trouble… eating your peanuts, getting into the birdfeeder and causing general mayhem. But not Murray! He’s sweet and adorable!
Murray is 8” tall when completed with a worsted weight yarn. And yes, the pattern includes instructions for a giant acorn!
To complete your own sweetie squirrel, you’ll need:
- 240 yards of worsted weight yarn in MC (the squirrels that live near me are grey, but you may want brown or black! Sample crocheted in Ella Rae Classic)
- 5 yards each of white and black yarn (for squirrel-y features)
- 25 yards each of tan and green yarn for the acorn.
- A size H (5.0mm) crochet hook (or size required for a nice-looking fabric)
- A tapestry needle
- 12mm black animal eyes
- Polyester stuffing
Can you single crochet? Willing to give the loop stitch a try? Then you can make this squirrel! Skills required:
- single crochet
- double crochet
- increasing
- decreasing
- loop stitch
Don’t be scared of the loop stitch… the pattern includes instructions and you can always watch my awesome video
As always, this pattern is a pdf that includes progress photos… so you won’t get lost!
