Mountain Mama
INSPIRATION:
The socks get their name from the song, Country Roads, by John Denver. We sang this song on the final night of summer camp in West Virginia. The song itself reminds me of beautiful friendships and authentic connections. Perhaps these socks will bring you back to an art cabin or class; I had the joy of being an art counselor for my two summers in New Hampshire. There is something so beautiful about creating among others. And so powerful about helping others realize how they too can be creative.
These socks use two different yarns from fantastic indie dyers. The purple hues of the cuff are from a gradient set, Bramble, from Fiberstory. The most multidimensional green is from Stacy of Stress Knits in Mountain Mama. Stacy has put together several sock kits in her shop - that are stunning! Please go check them out: https://www.stressknits.com/?category=Kits
As with all my designs, I strive to find a balance between intricacy and simplicity. The pattern has been professional tech edited with care by Luke of Wool Enthusiast, as well as tested by some spectacular souls.
Please enjoy the special moments of making this summer, and always. Do not hesitate to reach out with questions via Ravelry or Instagram at emmajanetknits.
