Mosaica
August Instagram knitalong! Tag your projects with MosaicaKAL, and follow aknitica for details.
Mosaica is an adventure in texture and colour that you can wear!
Mosaica is designed to give you a relaxing-yet-interesting knitting experience. It features textured knit-and-purl patterns with short repeats separated by bands of two-colour mosaic patterns that are easy enough for an advanced beginner.
There are no fancy colourwork techniques here -- just one yarn is used at a time in simple two-row stripes, and the patterns are formed by slipping stitches, simply moving them from one needle to the other without knitting them. The pattern tells you exactly what to do and when, of course.
Instructions are given in both charted and written format, so you can choose your favourite.
Shelly of Log House Cottage Yarns has made kits for Mosaica, and each stunning colour is paired with its own set of colourful neutrals, a dark and a white flecked with tiny bits of magic that make the mosaic bands come alive.
