Moonraker Cowl
A moonraker is a sail; Moonraker is also the name of a classic James Bond movie. I used my super-spy skills to create a variant of my Spinnaker Capelet; it’s now fully reversible and still sparkles with beads. The stockinette and reverse stockinette move along intuitively, and they fold and crease wonderfully when worn. Two sizes offer you the option of a snug neck warmer or a longer infinity cowl, for however you like to tackle your adventures.
SL – 38 x 60cm22 x 133cm / 15 x 24”9 x 52”
• Approx 330440m / 375 483yd (350-360m/395-400yd per 100g/3.53 oz skein)
• Approx. 530 690 6/0 seed beads (NOTE: There are usually 12-17 6/0 seed beads/gram.)
• 1-40 80cm/16 32” 3.25mm/US #3 circular needle
• 0.6mm/14US Crochet Hook to insert beads
This pattern is fully written and charted; the size of the cowls can easily be adjusted by casting on different mulitples. The beads are placed using a crochet hook; they sit next to the double YO and so are visible from either side of the finished object.
The beads do add weight (the green version has almost 60g of beads). If the intended recipient is sensitive to weight on their neck, I suggest omitting the beads.
