Monkey Puppet Marionette
Have some puppet fun by making your own Dancing Monkey.
Ideal for older children - makes a great school holiday project to make and do with the children. Not suitable for babies or children under 3 due to small parts.
YOU WILL NEED 80 m DK funky fur or textured yarn for head and body, 30 m DK plain yarn in a contrasting colour for muzzle and body parts, 3.50 mm hook, a stitch marker and a needle for neatening ends.
Other yarns may be substituted with varying size results.
You may use fabric paint, embroidery thread or safety features for decorating the face.
For hanging the puppet, you will need two wooden chopsticks, 5 m nylon thread or string and a hot glue gun.
Alternatively, you could hang by a single piece of elastic for a bouncy puppet.
The pattern is written in UK terms with a table of US equivalents provided as applicable.
Pattern is fully tested with links to tutorials for more difficult aspects.
